Telegram verification numbers

Telegram sends a login code by SMS the first time you register a number. A virtual Telegram number from OTPIXA receives that code online, so you can create a separate Telegram identity without a second SIM card.

How the Telegram code is delivered

Telegram first tries to deliver the code in-app to an existing session. Because a rented number has no active session, the code falls back to SMS and lands on your order page.

If Telegram offers a phone call instead of a text, request the SMS option — voice delivery is not supported on these numbers.

Practical tips

  • Set a username so contacts can reach you without the rented number
  • Enable a cloud password only if you can store it safely — SMS reset will not be available later
  • Order a fresh number for each Telegram account you create
  • Cancel the order if no code arrives; the price returns to your wallet

Limitations to be aware of

Telegram restricts numbers that have registered many accounts recently, so availability varies by country and time of day. Switching country is the fastest workaround.

The number is temporary: once the rental ends, you cannot use it to log in again from a new device.

Permitted use

Telegram numbers are for lawful account creation and testing. Spam, scam channels, harassment and impersonation are prohibited and are reported to the relevant platforms.
